5:25 A few of the most nutrient-dense foods
Today I want to cover the top nutrient-dense foods on keto. Certain nutrients are very easy to get, but some are very difficult. Out of all of the nutrients, the one that might be hardest to get is vitamin D. It’s actually next to impossible to get the vitamin D you need from food alone. On the flip side, vitamin K1 is probably one of the vitamins that’s easiest to get. Vitamin B6 is also pretty easy to get.
It can be difficult to get the amount of potassium you need unless you consume a lot of vegetables (at least 7 cups per day). However, you can also get some potassium from meats. Magnesium is another one that many people are deficient in, but if you’re consuming enough vegetables, you’re going to get magnesium.
When getting vitamin A, you need to make sure you’re getting plenty of the active form (retinol) and not just pre-vitamin A. Pre-vitamin A is found in vegetable sources like spinach and kale. A few great sources of the active form of vitamin A are organ meats and egg yolks. Omega-3 fatty acids can also be difficult to get unless you’re consuming foods such as fatty fish, organ meats, or grass-fed animal products.
Many people are deficient in trace minerals. Unless you consume foods like sea kelp or shellfish, you may not get enough trace minerals. However, there are a good amount of trace minerals in organ meats.
The most bioavailable iron is from animal products. Animal products are also a good source of vitamin B12. Vegetables and berries are good sources of vitamin C.
A few great sources of antioxidants and phytonutrients are garlic, many spices and herbs, and classes of vegetables like cruciferous.
7 nutrient-dense foods:
1. Organ meats
2. Shellfish
3. Salmon
4. Cruciferous vegetables
5. Salad (at least 7 cups)
6. Grass-fed meat
7. Eggs

I don’t know if I can ever like organ meat
Hi Dr Berg. I stopped taking my synthetic prenatal and replaced it with organ meat capsules. I got pregnant after two years of trying and only being on them for three months. Not all credit goes to the organ meats but I believe they helped. Now that I’m pregnant I’ve been told to watch taking that supplement because I could be getting too much Vitamin A. What’s your opinion on this?
Hi Dr, I am a very big bad fun of you. Thank you for your time making these useful videos. I am on my first trimester. When can I start eating organ meats? The only meat I can get hold of is in our locat butchers. Is this still ok to eat to? I can’t think of finding grass-fed Halal organ meat in the UK 😊
If you are plant-based, what do you recommend?
Farm raised salmon has more omega-6 than 3s, cuz they feed those poor fishes corn and soy. Stay away. Go fishin.
Can u pls tell how vegetarians have a healthy diet we really can’t eat meat
I’m really trying hard to break my fast food junk food addiction and this video is so informative and helpful. It creates a good starting point of how to build a nutrient rich diet.
5:33 this guy said grass fed brains
non animal diet here for 4 decades, this is nauseating. I am a very healthy 77 year old.
Could you do a video on micronutrient content of niche meats? Lamb, duck, goose, venison, elk, catfish or wild river fish etc? I think that would be incredibly interesting!
Banana and coconut water are abundant in Potassium and magnesium and very easy to get! And you don’t need to eat too much, like 1-2 banana or 1 coconut water in a day is enough!

He talks about egg yolks being very nutrient dense. I’m wondering do they have to be eaten raw? Or can boiled eggs give you the full nutrients he talks about?
Hi Does Powerade really have al the vitamins indicated on the bottle
How about vegetarian people! Gonna stay deficient?
What’s about Royal jelly from bees🐝?

I’m so grateful to Dr. Berg I don’t have words for just how grateful I am 🙏🏼❣️ I do have a wish, though: Please tell us which kind of Magnesium, Zinc etc, because there are so many different kinds to choose from. Thank you in advance 🙏🏼❣️

Sea food?! Isn’t salmon highly contaminated with heavy metals, micro plastics and other diseases as it’s very hard to get them from other than fish farms?!
Is it true. Magnesium and potassium need to be balanced with one another for the cells in our bodies…
Thank you for amazing content, any ideas on how to cope living in the west ( Germany) where farming practices may not support good soil quality ? How can one still get adequate nutrients? Currently look for superfoods at health stores and eat healthy food but worry about the quality of these foods.

So what on earth do vegans do? Supplementing everything can’t be healthy… Or living with deficiencies. We haven’t evolved to be vegans imo…
Omega 3 is in flax seed…
Which would explain why most vegans look so sickly 😅
What greens to eat in place of spinach and Swiss chard?
How much Spinach and Swiss Chard or do we skip altogether?
Came to this video as a recommendation from a pregnancy nutrition video and this recommends organs meats which you should avoid during pregnancy 🙃 why???
Doctor what is a good diet if you don’t eat meat, but still want to get the same/equal amounts of nutrients that you would normally receive from eating meat? Im 40 and pregnant. I have just recently decided to change my diet to a more plant one. This was mostly because of my pregnancy and the growing increase of hormones used in many meats and other foods we consume daily. Its very concerning to me. Please help ❤ Also, could you please recommend any good books that may be helpful alongside this journey I’m on? At this point any and all knowledge would be helpful. Thank you 😊
Try telling a pregnant woman to eat brains and liver.
Can you do one for those on a vegan diet
